Restorative Yoga with Jenny Leung
First Fridays 6:45 - 8:00 p.m. May 3rd and June 7th, 2013.
In this deeply restorative class, individuals will be guided into artfully propped yoga postures designed to balance the nervous system and emotional body. In these postures, the entire body stretches gently while supported by props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks. Individually-designed support in each posture helps minimize muscle contraction and quiet blood pressure, heart rate, and brain function. Gentle guided meditation and basic breath work techniques help create a safe space for the emergence of the student’s innate healing capacity. Restorative yoga can help to quiet the mind, balance the nervous system, deepen relaxation, reduce anxiety and stress, soothe the emotional body, stimulate restful sleep, and enhance immunity.

Unwind from the week and create a healing space within by moving gently through this restorative class. Our practice will incorporate simple movements (asanas), mindful breathing and restorative postures that help facilitate deep relaxation. Everyone is welcome.
